Sweet Georgia Brown was born in South Carolina, her talents surfaced at the age of three, when she displayed an interest in song and dance. During the summer months, Georgia was brought to New York City, where she was enrolled at the Victoria School of Music in Harlem, studying Tap Dance and Vocal training. At nine years of age Georgia made her stage debut at Carnegie Hall in the musical, “Alice in Wonderland”, as a tap dancer. Her family relocated to New York City and Georgia began High School. During these years she sang at the weekly assembly and in the Chorus, representing her school in the All Star Chorus Competition, and winning.

Taught by the vocal coach, Margaret Haynes, Georgia developed her skills as a Jazz and Pop vocalist, leading to her winning the legendary Amateur Night at the Apollo Talent show. Now she was prepared for a professional career as a vocalist. Georgia began with Pop and Jazz tunes, but discovered she preferred to sing blues songs. Cast as a vocalist in the Broadway hit’s “Eubie” and “Bubbling Brown Sugar”, she was at the start of a successful career. Players – Stew Cutler on Guitar, Thomas Gooding on Bass Guitar, Wanye Holmes on Organ & KeyBoard, Richie Johnson on Drums, Prince Sabor on Congas, and Ronan McKay on Alto & Tenor Sax. Special Performances by Ms. Wendy Oxenhorn on Guest Harmonica and Guest Vocals by Mr. Jimmy Norman.
